本部由上海美術(shù)電影制片廠出品的國產(chǎn)動畫片，一共十三集。主要講述十二生肖的來歷。第一集闖妖洞，第二集機(jī)靈鼠，第三集大力牛，第四集白額虎，第五集長腳兔，第六集塌鼻龍，第七集青青蛇，第八集雪白馬，第九集劍角羊，第十集紅臉猴，第十一集五彩雞，第十二集花尾狗，第十三集大耳豬。在每一集的故事中，都會有一個邪惡的妖怪。每消滅一個妖怪就犧牲一種動物。為了紀(jì)念他們，就成為了這一年的生肖。
　　十二生肖，是中國傳統(tǒng)文化的重要部分，由十二種源于自然界的動物即鼠、牛、虎、兔、龍、蛇、馬、羊、猴、雞、狗、豬組成。本部動畫就是在講述這十二生肖的英雄神話故事。

校園女神鷹峰和一點(diǎn)都不起眼的白田雖然從小同校，但從來沒有什么交流可言。某日，白田在陰錯陽差下目睹了鷹峰的更衣現(xiàn)場，更進(jìn)一步發(fā)現(xiàn)她竟然擁有透過脫下內(nèi)褲來穿越時(shí)空改變因果的超能力！而為了讓自己能夠隨心所欲的使用這個能力，被鷹峰使詐陷害的白田逼不得已，只能選擇成為她的衣柜！

　　By daylight, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste are ordinary teenagers. But unbeknownst to their family and friends, the two of them carry a huge secret...using the powers of magical creatures called Kwami, they transform into the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir! With a mission to protect the city of Paris from the evil Hawk Moth, the two of them must learn to cope with their new responsibilities, as well as ordinary troubles involving love, school, family, and friends. Most of all, they must learn to put their romantic feelings aside in order to perform their duty, unaware of each other's true identities.
　　The second season premiere is scheduled for a global launch around September–November 2017 in Europe, At a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, it was announced that the second season would have its North American release on Netflix in December 2017, with 13 episodes to be released. KidsClick will start airing season 2 of this show in the US starting 30 August 2018, marking the first time that Season 2 of this show airing on American over-the-air television. A third season is also in development. On 22 January 2018, Zag posted on Instagram that the crew was working on a fourth and fifth season. On 31 August premiered a new series with Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir which this time is in chibi style. On 5 September, 2018, Skydance Media has acquired the live-action film and live-action television rights.
