　　2017年冬天，90后小有成就的長(zhǎng)城專職攝影師楊東，通過(guò)央視春晚得知已經(jīng)105歲的老紅軍、中國(guó)長(zhǎng)城學(xué)會(huì)現(xiàn)任名譽(yù)會(huì)長(zhǎng)王定國(guó)的傳奇經(jīng)歷，接受了紀(jì)錄電影《愛我長(zhǎng)城》攝制組邀請(qǐng)他為王定國(guó)拍攝一張她心目中長(zhǎng)城照片的任務(wù)。于是，他從家鄉(xiāng)我國(guó)長(zhǎng)城最東端遼寧丹東虎山長(zhǎng)城出發(fā)，一路拍攝長(zhǎng)城，一路了解王定國(guó)等老一輩保護(hù)長(zhǎng)城的故事，到達(dá)了我國(guó)新疆邊境最西端的長(zhǎng)城。在一年多的拍攝過(guò)程中，他了解到改革開放以來(lái)，在鄧小平、習(xí)仲勛“愛我中華，修我長(zhǎng)城”的題詞感召下，王定國(guó)、羅哲文等老一輩革命家在長(zhǎng)城保護(hù)中的光輝業(yè)績(jī)和高風(fēng)亮節(jié)，也了解到在他們關(guān)懷和影響下，著名長(zhǎng)城專家董耀會(huì)、國(guó)際長(zhǎng)城專家林賽、農(nóng)村黨支部書記呂成貴、大學(xué)教授趙琛等在新時(shí)代用不同方式傳承保護(hù)長(zhǎng)城的精彩奮斗故事，他對(duì)長(zhǎng)城精神有了更為深入的認(rèn)識(shí)，最終楊東用長(zhǎng)征信念和長(zhǎng)城精神拍攝到了一組高質(zhì)量的長(zhǎng)城照片，并在2018年平遙國(guó)際攝影大展上獲得廣泛關(guān)注。當(dāng)他把最滿意的一張名為《大國(guó)戰(zhàn)號(hào)》的照片送給病榻上的王定國(guó)時(shí)，年已106歲（2018年）的王定國(guó)露出了欣慰的神情。
